During my whirlwind weekend in New York City, I made an appointment to meet with a stylist at Rent The Runway’s Style Studio on the Lower West Side at 345 Hudson Street. As an avid event-attender, I rent the majority of my dresses through Rent The Runway, but hadn’t experienced anything like this before. They call it an “industrial loft setting, with its white walls and bright windows…the canvas to your every fashion fantasy. It’s a playground to reinvent oneself, to take risks, to have some fun,” and I certainly agree.
When you finally enter into the massive & pristine space after intense security (they mean it when they say an appointment is required!), you’re greeted by your stylist. I met with Neil Timiraos, who is an expert when it comes to fashion. The studio is bright, clean and cozy with expansive dressing rooms — a huge step up from the old space on 123 Varick Street.
The studio offering a variety of different packages by appointment only, such as fittings for specific events, such as bridal parties, last minute event styling and custom appointments. The one I selected, Style & Fit 101. Neil determined my ideal silhouettes and recommended numerous designers I never would have tried. After an initial consultation, it’s time to start trying on!
I presented Neil with the challenge of finding dresses and accessories for a variety of events, all with different dress codes. He was able to help me pick out the perfect dress for the CMA Awards! Neil scheduled the delivery of the dresses for me and handled all of the sizing and added numerous pieces to my virtual closet to be rented later…
