The infamous brunch at the Banff Springs hotel. Over the years, the polish has really come off this once-extravagant meal. It just makes me sad to see this grand traditional succumb to boring brunch clichés. We skipped the buffet in favor of other options in the hotel. Received more-than-a-few strange looks today in my Barbie-pink Moschino sweater and purple-satin a-line skirt; not sure why, maybe too fashion forward for breakfast? Or already dated? 
 
The Moschino Spring Summer 2015 capsule collection, inspired by Barbie, premiered with great acclaim and got a lot of publicity so, despite the other guests’ reactions, I was excited to rock my morning ensemble. Later in the day, swapped the purple skirt for a shorter one with sequins, brought back my Sam Edelman over-the-knee boots and was good to go. Glad I saved the sequins and thigh-high boots for eveningthe crowd would definitely not have approved them over breakfast. Just goes to show, guessing the style in a new locationnot always easy.
