Models, designers, bloggers, award winners and visionaries joined together for the grand finale of Nashville Fashion Week at The Rosewall. It was a spectaular gala evening and the ambiance was almost as stunning as the fashionable guests themselves.
I was seated with a fabulous group of women and fellow bloggers from 12th and Broad, The Tennessean, Flock South, Stella Shops and Le Minimalist. Sharing stories of how we all came to be at the forefront of the Nashville fashion scene was the highlight of my evening. Not to mention that the prosecco we were toasting was as wonderful as their personalities. You’ve got to love the warmth of the fashion scene in this city.
The meal was an elegant four course dinner followed by a glamorous awards program. Clare Armistead took the top honor as the Nashville Style Icon of 2015, demonstrating excellence in taste, decorum, poise and Southern hospitality.
The darling of the night won the Face of Fashion Award- Laura Hanson Sims. While accepting her proclaimed first award she has ever won, she also let us know she was missing her senior prom to be at this event. Looking stunning in an all white floor length structured dress, I didn’t get a picture of her as she slipped out early to attend her prom, at least I am guess that is where she dashed off to like Cinderella.
The Point of View Award went to Brett Warren for his amazing eye as a photographer. This Annie Leibovitz protege from McMinnville, TN is extremely talented and this award was well deserved for his glamorous creative spirit. I hope I get the opportunity to work with him soon.
Cherylann Stephens (far left) took home the award for her contribution as part of the team for Amax Modeling Agency. The Fashion Forward Award was accepted by her with great acknowlegement to her colleagues at the agency.
It’s clear that the people in Nashville are passionate about progression and local support in the fashion arena. There is so much potential for this city to have a locally supported and flourishing fashion industry. I have certainly got my eye on local designer Timo Weiland, and I am expecting great things from this Vanderbilt graduate.
My look for the night featured this black and white Camille Dress by Nha Khanh from Rent the Runway. I love how her designs bring an element of timelessness to a modern silhouette.
You can’t go wrong with a BCBG clutch to put your Fashion Week essentials in.
Like all great things, Nashville Fashion Week also had to come to an end, but these Ralph & Russo shoes will be in my closet for eternity.
Until next time, fashion friends.
